A good homebrewed film developer is Mytol similar to Xtol. The formula is as follows:

Distilled water @~45C ~700ml

Sodium sulphite ……… 85g

Sodium metaborate …… 4g

Ascorbic acid ………… 10.67g

Sodium bicarbonate ….. 5.09g

Phenidone A …….……. 0.15g

Sodium metabisulphite .. 3g

Distilled water to make 1000ml

Use like Xtol.

A good homebrewed paper developer is E-72 similar to Dektol. The formula is as follows:

Distilled water @~50C ~700ml

Sodium sulphite ……… 45g

Ascorbic acid ………… 19g

Phenidone A …………. 0.5g

Sodium carbonate ……. 90g

Distilled water to make 1000ml

Use 1:2 for the working solution for normal contrast or 1:3 for lower contrast.
